The Heritage School

Dear Heritage Family and Friends,

Today was Grandparents' Day, and it was wonderful to see the smiling faces of our grandparents and students on campus!  Our program this morning began with a meaningful video about the founding of the School.  The video featured interviews with some of our founding families, all of whom are current grandparents and were in attendance today.  They set out to build a school that "felt like a family," and their success in doing so is very evident right now.

The video was followed by monster-themed musical performances by our students.  The musicians did a fantastic job and made their grandparents (and music teachers) proud!

The formal program concluded with brief speeches by two of our seniors, Byron York, who joined Heritage last year, and Emily Gray Powell, who has been a Heritage student since Pre-Kindergarten.  They both spoke with grace and poise about what Heritage means to them.

Watching the faces of our grandparent audience throughout the program, I saw pride, humor, joy, love, and even a few tears of sheer emotion.  I am proud of Heritage, honored to serve as Head of School, and grateful to our students, their parents and grandparents, for building a family honoring the legacy of our founders.

Sincerely,

Judith Griffith
Head of School
